Kirse Junge-Stevnsborg

Kirse Junge-Stevnsborg has been Director of Malmö Art Museum since 2019. Previously, she worked as Project Manager at ART2030, and from 2009 to 2018 she was Artistic Director of Den Frie Centre of Contemporary Art in Copenhagen. From 2006 to 2009, she was Director of Gävle Konstcentrum, and prior to that a curator at Dunkers Kulturhus in Helsingborg, as well as at the Danish Arts Agency, Galleri Nicolai Wallner, and Tate Gallery in London.
She serves on the boards of several art and cultural institutions, including the SMK Museum Board, CHART Art Fair, ADBC/Bloom/Golden Days, Ebba Gregersen and painter Arne Petersen’s Foundation, and the Barbro and Holger Bäckström Foundation. She has previously chaired the Association of Danish Art Centres and been a member of the Faculty of Fine and Performing Arts at Lund University. Kirse Junge-Stevnsborg writes on contemporary art, lectures, and has curated, organised, and commissioned numerous exhibitions, publications, and seminars.
